We aren’t like other companies, care for us doesn’t stop with the clients. We value, respect and look after the people that work for us. We genuinely care about our team and understand that you need great support to provide excellent care. If you want to join a company that genuinely cares about your wellbeing and professional development, then you are in the right place! Don’t just take our word for it, here’s what our team has to say about us…
“Joining Avanti has been a great career decision. Not only do I feel appreciated for the work I do, I truly enjoy going to work each day. The carers are amazing and I have always been supported by the management team.” - Indeed review, 2024
“Management seem to listen about any concerns I have regarding hours and service users and do act on it.” - Staff survey response, 2024
“I've worked in various companies whose culture is so toxic, they recruit everyone and anyone, they don't care about your wellbeing and offer no support. Avanti is SO different! The management really value everyone, recruit great people, listen to you and are there when you need a pick me up if you have a bad day. Joining Avanti has made me love my work and have provided me with a great work/life balance. It can be busy but we all work as a team and cheer each other along!” - Indeed review, 2023
"They have all been incredible and they could not support me any better - I am so grateful.” - Staff survey response, 2024
“I recently started with Avanti and have been blown away with their kindness, compassion and support. Management genuinely care about their staff and this is clear in their approach and general ethos; they really do go above and beyond to ensure the carers are valued as highly as the service users. ” - Indeed review, 2021

What is it like being a carer at Avanti?
No two days are the same. Your visits could range from supporting our clients to do a spot of gardening, administering medication, providing personal care to singing along to Frank Sinatra - our clients love music!
You will have an app on your phone which will guide you to our elderly clients’ home. Visits can be anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours (or sometimes even longer).
You will have an app on your phone which will guide you to our elderly clients’ home. Visits can be anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours (or sometimes even longer).
Once you arrive, the app on your phone will guide you in what care to provide:
- Sometimes it’s just being there to be company and have a chat
- Some people need help around the home
- Personal care is frequently required (help with showering, using the bathroom, dressing, hair, nails etc)
- Meal preparation of healthy cooked and cold meals
- Helping with hobbies and activities to brighten peoples lives
- Administering medication
Being a carer can come with down days too. Unfortunately in our sector, we sometimes face loss of our clients which can be emotionally difficult. We provide care from 7am-10pm (with breaks!) each day and the days can be long and tiring. Our supportive and caring management team is always available to listen and support you whenever you need it.
Care really can be one of the most rewarding jobs, you connect with people every day, brighten their lives and you are the reason someone smiles everyday.
P.S. Yes, we also look after our client’s pets…including a giant snail - see below!
You never stop learning!
Training is at the heart of what we do and we are very proud of the passionate, kind and professional team that we have. We have a dedicated training department and an award- winning training programme led by our in-house Trainer, Cheryl (in photo on the left!), who will support you to feel confident and empowered to provide the best care possible. Oh, and we pay all of our team for training time as well!
Here’s an overview of what our how you will be trained and supported with us:
- Your journey with us starts with your week of paid induction training at our Head Office covering all aspects of health and social care
- During your induction week you will spend 2 days out in the field with our most experienced care staff (we call them Care Leaders) learning through seeing and doing
- Once you have completed your induction you will be supported in the field by our Care Leaders and Managers
- You will complete the Care Certificate during your first 3 months with us at our training centre
- You will have ongoing advanced training as you progress with us through your first year
- Once you’ve been with us for a year, you can choose to do an NVQ Diploma qualification
- After your first year, we want you to take control of your learning! You will have 4 days of paid training to use every year and can choose from a variety of topics
- Want to progress your career? We’re a growing company with progression opportunities! We’ll tell you more about this in our interview stages.
